"HUSPÅHUS" PROJECT FINALLY GONE PUBLIC

Finally we can show this housing project situated on a great site in Herning, DK. Today Herning Folkeblad published pictures of the project on the front page of their newspaper and wrote a fine article about the 3600 m2 building. The 9 story towers include 18 exclusive apartments - each with two 28 m2 terrasses and great views to the beutiful landscape towards south and over the city towards north. We have been developing the project during this year with C.C. Contractor and have now reached a stage where it´s time to show it to the public.

LEGO CHALLENGE AT THE OFFICE

Can we push the boundaries on how to play with LEGO -

We will try. How complex and beautiful geometries can we make from these basic LEGO bricks, all in white.

BONES TAKEAWAY / RESTAURANT / DK / AALBORG

Together with C. C. Contractor, KRADS is designing a BONES takeaway restaurant in Aalborg.

MODEL SHOP ACTION

The model shop in Denmark is busy these days with a model for a big presentation. We´ll post all the details of this project very soon.

SUMMER HOUSE IN ICELAND

We have for some time been working on the design of a summer house in Iceland - set in a beautiful and steep terrain by the glacial river Hvítá. Recently work started on site and we are expecting the concrete casting to be finished before christmas. Here are a couple of pictures from the development on site - as well as the drawings of the 2 main facades of the house.

VILLA G IN PROGRESS

A visit at the Villa G construction site today showed that the house is well underway. The house frames the spectacular view just right and is already looking great at this early stage. Masons will hit the site next week and continue the exciting build.

KAUPTÚN-SHOPPING CENTRE

WORKSHOP MUNICIPAL OF HERNING / DK / TINGVEJ

This week we did a workshop and held a speak on different strategies of urban development/transformation commisioned by the municipal of Herning. The workshop was done in collaboration with Årstiderne Arkitekter- and was a very interesting experience. The audience and participants were the landowners of the area in Herning.

Tingvej, Viborgvej and Lillelundvej constitute a very interesting area with great potentials in terms of becoming a vibrant urban environment. We had some really good discussions on how to transform this area.

SHOPPING CENTRE-BUILDING SITE

A recent shot from the colonnade at the Kauptún shopping-centre, which is getting close to completion. The billboard "columns" are under way - the first one's expected to be finished this month.

ART ATTACK AT KRADS

Yesterday we had an art attack at the office. 7 fantastic sequin-trees by artist Theresa Himmer is on display at our office. The trees are part of the exhibition "Scene 1; Skoven (exterior)" recently shown at the BOX display at Lynfabrikken in Århus. Also check out www.theresahimmer.com

WEEK WORKSHOP WITH THE DEPT. OF ARCHITECTURE FROM THE ACADEMY

Last week we had a week long workshop together with a group of talents from the Architecture Dept. at the Academy. The group was making an urban research for the City of Reykjavík and the conclusion of the workshop will be realised this fall. We thank the group for a great time at our office last week and look forward to the making of the project.

NEW INTERN AT KRADS

This week Sophie Rye Hansen began her internship at KRADS. Sophie is already hard at work and we are delighted that Sophie is spending her fall semester at the KRADS office.

FIRST WORKSHOP IN UGELBØLLE

Last sunday we had the first workshop concerning the new private school in Ugelbølle. It was a great sunday afternoon - sunny weather and perfect conditions for gathering the important information and inspiration needed. We enjoyed meeting all the parents and kids that are the focus of this project.

FIRST SECTION COMPLETED

Last friday the completion of the first section of Kauptún shopping-centre was celebrated with style - including cold beers, grilled lamb and a whole lot of sunshine.  

UGBL INDEPENDENT SCHOOL

Ugelbølle / Denmark are planning to build a new independent elementary school - as it has been decided to close down the local public school.  KRADS have been commissioned to be the architects on the project and the programming process. Here is a sneak peek at the first sketches of how the school could look like.
