The 1.500 m2 private school in Ugelbølle is undergoing the final design phase at the moment . In the process new layers in the concept have been discovered and brought into play. Meanwhile the original intentions have been strengthened and developed further. We are looking forward to start building within the next 12 months.
The 12th international architecture biennale in Venice opens this week. KRADS will be taking part in the event "Backstage Architecture" next friday night, where the young architects represented in the newly released book "Worldwide Architecture" will meet to exchange ideas and present their work to international critics and journalists.
KRADS was chosen, with the project "Kauptún-Shopping center", to represent Iceland & Denmark in "Worldwide Architecture" - a publication portraying 45 young architectural practices from all over the world.
KRADS is selected as "runner-ups" in the international idea competition MAN MADE REFORMULATE. The competition is part of the 4th International Architecture Triennale 2010 in Oslo, Norway. 85 entries were submitted, one winner and six "runner-ups" were chosen. KRADS will be published in the competition report which is part of the Oslo Triennale 2010 catalogue.
Recently we participated in the competition "Bok og Blueshus" in Notodden, Norway, proposing a building for the mixed program of a library, museum and a concert stage - serving as the city´s tribute to the strong tradition for blues music in Notodden. Here are a couple of images from our proposal.
Backstage Architecture is a collection of projects that represents an original panorama of architecture on a global level across a network of professionals. In it are the names and contacts of architects under 40 from forty-five different countries, one per country, each selected and presented by a referee in the book Worldwide Architecture.
